 Responding to feedback from customers and third parties, Microsoft has extended the availability of Windows XP to June 30, 2008. Originally slated to be pulled from retail shelves and OEMs on January 30, 2008*only a year after Windows Vista's debut*customers requested more time to prepare for the upgrade to Vista.
What does this mean for your business? Have you invested into software to run your business that is designed to operate on Windows XP? If so you may have to decide weather to update your entire computer infrastructure to operate on Windows Vista which may include purchasing new software or purchasing Windows XP Based computers before Windows XP units are no longer available.
Unfortunately upgrading to Vista is not as easy as the Windows 98 to Windows XP upgrade was because Windows Vista is designed for the new 64 Bit hardware. This means if your system is over one year old it may not be Vista compatible so a Vista upgrade would include replacing the computer itself.
There are also considerations for the home user. Much of the software and peripheral such as printers and cameras you may own may not be Vista compatible. This would mean not only purchasing a Vista based PC but also replacing the accessories you have invested in.

3. Circuit Boards

·         You may have heard the terms RAM Memory, Modem, Network card, Video card and motherboard mentioned in relation to computers. All of this hardware have one thing in common. They are all PCBs (printed circuit boards). A circuit board is built by placing computer chips and circuitry on a layered piece of fiberglass. A good PCB will have four to six layers. To keep profits up the "Big Name" companies tend to use two and three layer boards. The chips transfer data through tiny strands of wire called a data bus. A high quality board such as MSI and Asus use gold to make their data bus, the BIG NAMES tend to use nickel or a "less expensive" conductor. As you can guess gold is much stronger and resist "heat" much better.

4.  The Heat Is On

·         Electrical current traveling through a circuit builds up heat. A strong metal such as gold not only can withstand more heat but it also conducts less heat than other metals such as nickel. All computer hardware will create heat and the inside of your computer can soon become an oven. High heat temperatures cause things to expand and contract, a circuit board can flex under the normal heat of computer operation and the data busses on them are stretched and contracted. A data bus made of inferior material will eventually stretch thin, crack or break causing system failure. As they start to deteriorate they will also cause errors in computing and system lock ups and crashes. There are only two ways to prevent these system failures.
